Terms of participation

1. Nature of participation

Cherry is a donation platform. A contribution made through Cherry is a voluntary donation. It is not an investment, deposit, savings product, loan, security or game of chance.

No profit, return, interest, earnings, payout or financial gain is offered, promised or implied. You should only contribute an amount you are comfortable giving away.

2. The donation chain

Each donation is recorded as an entry in a continuous chain. Platform matching rules pair your entry with a preceding entry. Matching is performed server-side and is deterministic.

The monetary amount associated with any other participant is never disclosed to you. You will only be informed that your contribution has been matched and processed according to the platform rules.

3. Eligibility and verification

Availability, minimum and maximum contribution limits, supported currencies and identity verification requirements are configured per jurisdiction and may change at any time.

We may require additional verification, place a contribution under review, or temporarily restrict participation where our compliance or risk rules require it.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Cherry does not receive or store raw payment card details.

We receive only the payment status, provider reference, amount, currency and fees required for accounting and reconciliation.

5. Receiving a matched donation

When your entry is matched, the amount associated with the preceding entry is recorded as an amount you may receive. Receiving is optional: nothing is owed to you and no amount is guaranteed.

To receive money in a bank account you must first complete verification with our payment provider. Verification, identity checks and bank details are handled entirely by the provider; Cherry stores only the provider account reference and its verification status.

You choose whether a matched amount is sent to you as soon as it is available or held as a balance you can withdraw later. Cherry currently charges no platform fee, so the full amount is forwarded; any future fee would be published here before it applies.

Amounts remain held until verification is complete, and may be held longer where our compliance or risk rules require review.

6. Refunds

Refunds may be issued at our discretion where the payment provider supports them, for example duplicate charges, payment errors or compliance requirements. Refund decisions are recorded with a reason, the administrator responsible and a timestamp.

7. Pausing the chain

We may pause new participation at any time. While paused, no new contributions can be made. Existing records remain accessible to authorised administrators for accounting, audit and support.

8. Legal review
